Why Install an Automatic Boom Gate on Your Company Car Park?
If the car park outside your offices is open and you're close to shops in your town centre, then you may have problems with people parking in the space when they shouldn't. People may see your car park, work out that they can get in it for free and park up to do their shopping.
This makes it harder for your staff to park and isn't great for your business security. To get better control, consider installing an automatic boom gate. What are the advantages?
Controlled Access to the Car Park
If you install a boom gate, then you control who parks in your car park. To open the gate, drivers have to use a code or a swipe card. This means that you can restrict access to your staff and any visitors you want to allow to park on your premises.
Even though the boom gate covers your parking entrance relatively subtly, it does the job. General drivers will soon work out that they can't open the gate to park. They'll have to find somewhere else to park.
You'll no longer have to deal with cross employees who have to pay to park their cars somewhere else. They won't be late for work because they've had to park away from the office and walk to it. Plus, you'll no longer have people you don't know on your premises.
Economical Parking Control
There are other alternatives to using a boom gate on an open car park. However, these may be less cost-effective than an automatic gate that takes care of itself.
For example, you could hire a security guard to control access. As well as paying their wages, you'll probably have to build a hut for them to work in. You won't want to leave a guard standing out in the open in bad weather.
Alternatively, you can use a towing contractor to remove unauthorised cars that are parking on your site. Again, you'll have ongoing costs here. Plus, you have to wait for the tow truck to arrive to take a car away. In the meantime, it takes up a valuable parking space. Sometimes, the driver will come back before the car is towed which is frustrating for you.
If you're having problems with unauthorised drivers parking on your premises, then talk to an auto gate installation service. They can show you examples of boom gates that you could use and tell you more about their advantages.
